BANQUET KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Wisconsin is lucky to have EAA right in our backyard! This year we will have Chris Henry, EAA Museum Manager, as our keynote speaker. Mr. Henry will share with us the story of Jesse Brown and Thomas Hudner, and share his experiences with the restoration and dedication of the new Hudner/Brown exhibit at EAA. A full bio will be shared here, soon!
HOTEL CHECK-IN:
Hotel check-in begins at 1500 hours on Friday. Conference check-in will begin at 1630 hours, in the conference center. This will give you time to check in to your rooms and get settled before collecting the required items for the conference. Please note, the hotel does have a wedding planned for Friday evening. Please be respectful of those guests and the event, no members should be in the hotel ballroom area Friday evening. In simple terms – joking about wedding crashing is funny, actual wedding crashing is NOT.
CONFERENCE SCHEDULE:
The conference schedule is complete as of now and can also be found on the wing website as needed. We don’t expect classes to change between now and next weekend, however, changes will be updated here! There is a great line-up of classes for Cadets and Senior Officers, so check that out and plan your weekend accordingly.
*Cadets only: make sure you complete the class registration sent by C/Maj Ruddat, which can be found here: https://forms.office.com/r/Wdd9C5iD7H
PACKING LIST:
We know many of our attendees are new to Civil Air Patrol and sometimes packing the right things can be confusing! This is a Civil Air Patrol event weekend, which means a uniform is expected during all scheduled activities (classes, meetings, etc.).
PARKING/FLYING:
The Best Western Conference Center has a large parking garage for a fee of $3.00/night. For those who are bringing corporate vehicles, they will not fit in the parking garage. The attached guest parking map will show the location of an open parking lot (Riverside Lot) behind the conference center. That is available for use! If you are planning to fly into Oshkosh (KOSH), please email your flight information (arrival, etc). to Capt Jerred so she can arrange your stay at Basler FBO and for ground transportation. You MUST bring your own tie-downs, there will not be extras for use.
CONFERENCE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:
We’re a professional group, but it’s always good to lay out a few of the important rules. Please see the attached 2023 Wisconsin Wing Conference Rules.pdf, for info regarding quiet times, cadet check-ins, uniforms, etc.
MEALS:
Your name tag will be your color-coded meal ticket, you must have your name tag with you at all times when attending meals/conference. Please note, if you registered with the “Saturday Only” option, you will only be able to eat meals on Saturday! No exceptions. If you registered an additional guest for the banquet, you will receive their ticket at check-in. Please understand that, while we would like, we simply are not able to accommodate every food sensitivity, but we have tried to provide ample options. We will have gluten free and vegetarian options available ONLY for those who have requested it upon registering. If you have special dietary needs, you may want to bring some of what you know to be safe for you.
